The Basics
Either by CD or FTP, schools send us the images they have taken of school activities, and we put them securely on-line in albums and galleries. We remove red-eye, crop and color correct if needed. The school's constituents (families, alums, etc.) can view those images, and, if they choose, order a print of one or several right on-line. The person ordering gets the print(s) in the mail, and the school gets 25% of the revenue that is generated through those purchases. At the end of the year, we archive all the images to CD and create a physical notebook of contact sheets with thumbnails that mirrors the CDs.
The cost of the service is $500 per year. Schools also pay a one-time set-up fee of $250 in the first year. The first-year total, therefore, is $750. All subsequent years are at $500.
Technology
An on-line, secure, unique account where the school's digital images and pictures will be uploaded and stored. When images are uploaded, we apply VividPics technology to analyze and make adjustments to the images (if needed) to improve the exposure and colors.
Capacity
The storing and hosting of an unlimited number (and size) of the school's digital images.
Ease-of-Use
Seamless album-by-album slideshow functionality (so the images within the online albums can be viewed at the preferred pace), thumbnail creation for all images used in each album (to decrease the time required to open the albums and pages as well as to make it easier for the viewer to scan through the images quickly in order to locate the ones of most interest), and ordering functionality that is highly intuitive (but is accompanied by step-by-step instructions nonetheless).
Transaction
Built-in e-commerce technology for the purchasing of images within an album, including secure credit card processing. We use industry standard secure server software (SSL) for all photo ordering and account management transactions. It encrypts all of the purchaser's personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that the information cannot be read as it travels over the Internet.
Processing
Complete and guaranteed high-quality image processing and picture printing services using Fujicolor Crystal Archive fade-resistant photographic paper from Fuji.
Delivery
Order processing and shipment within 24 hours (with exception of weekends and some holidays). Shipment options include: US Postal Service, UPS, and Federal Express to anywhere in the continental U.S. and Canada as well as international destinations.
Services
Value added services (e.g., conversion of .tif files to .jpg, archiving albums to CD annually, comprehensive upload services, reporting and accounting data, etc.) throughout the program that minimize the time and resource commitment from the school and maximize the program's simplicity for the consumer.
Privacy
No solicitation of any kind to those individuals who order prints through the shortQueue program. In addition, email and mailing addresses will be used only when necessary to communicate with the consumer regarding the order placed.
