A: shortQueue is a program designed to encourage parents, families and friends to connect with the school and its children by providing the ability to view and purchase pictures from the school's website online. When families and friends purchase pictures, the school receives 25% of all revenue generated. shortQueue is the perfect program for community building, fundraising and chronicling the year in the life of the school or of a child.

A: Well, that one's easy. Pictures tell stories. They capture and preserve memories, and, since they are personal, they involve everyone. The other half of the equation is this: schools are currently taking more and more digital images. These images are assets - digital assets, of course, but assets nonetheless. Generally speaking, schools do not leverage these digital assets well. shortQueue allows schools to get full use of those visual assets.

A: Kids love to see pictures of themselves, and parents love to have pictures of their kids. Pictures create goodwill and good PR for schools; they drive visitors to website and enhance the site's personalization and quality. Since digital images provide new and current content to the website, schools are now able to display images of any school activity (e.g., athletic, field trips, special events, etc.) online.

A: Image files are stored on secure servers at our data center. These images are never made publicly accessible, and are shared only by the school's explicit direction.

A: Yes, the school's images are completely secure. These images are never made publicly accessible, and are shared only by the school's explicit direction. The school, and only the school, decides who has access to its images. For further information, please view shortQueue's privacy policy.

A: The school identifies pictures or albums that it wants to share through its shortQueue on-line account. Once the specific images are selected for sharing a unique URL link is automatically created that can then be posted on the school's public website or secure Intranet as a picture gallery.

A: : Schools pay a one-time set-up fee of $250 and an annual fee of $500. The first-year total, therefore, would be $750. All subsequent years would be at $500.

A: Revenue checks are sent to the schools each August along with the archive CDs and notebook (Q Archive).

A: For up to two years if the school would like. We create a distinct gallery for each school year which allows schools to provide access both to the current year's gallery as well as to the gallery from the preceding school year.

A: No, there is no limit to the number of images for each school. The school may store as many pictures as it wishes when participating in the shortQueue program. There is no additional charge for more images (e.g., storage or upload fees). The more school puts into the program, the more the school will get out of it.

A: Yes. The school has three choices: 1) the links to the albums created through the shortQueue program can be placed on a secure school Intranet which would be accessible only through a school-specific ID and password, 2) the links to the albums could be emailed directly to parents and thus access to those albums would be limited only to those who received the email from the school, or 3) the links could be referenced in the printed material the school sends home to parents and families.

A: There has never been a better time to enter the world of digital photography. Flexibility and convenience are two of the main advantages. With new technical innovations, there are many ways to capture your school's pictures digitally, get prints, and share these pictures with parents, families and friends.

A: Available print sizes for purchase are 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 20x30, and wallet.

A: Depending on the size of the print, the cost could run anywhere between $1.50 to $45.00 per print. Pricing levels will be established for each school, but, in order to enhance the program's fundraising potential, each school may adjust these prices upward if it so chooses.

A: Yes. Most schools ask their parents to sign a photo-release form that allows the school to use images of students for marketing and other purposes. This release would cover the shortQueue program as well. If there still is some concern by a small percentage of parents, the school could address those concerns in two ways: 1) the links to the albums created through the shortQueue program could be placed on a secure school Intranet which would be accessible only through a school-specific ID and password, 2) the links to the albums could be emailed directly to parents and thus access to those albums would be limited only to those who received the email--in this case, the albums would be accessible only through the email not through the school's public website or its Intranet, or 3) the links could be referenced in the printed materials that the school sends home to parents and families.

A: A camera of less than 2.0 megapixels will produce images that would be perfectly fine to be printed in the 4x6 or 5x7 size, but likley nothing above that. A 2.0 megapixel camera will produce images that could be printed in the 4x6, 5x7, 8x10 prints sizes, but probably not in the 11x14, 16x20, and 20x30 sizes. A camera of 3.0 megapixels or greater is ideal. NOTE: When it comes to image resolution, there's no need to worry whether a given image is suitable for a particular size of print. During the ordering process, the sizes of prints that each image will support will be indicated.

A: No problem. Take 35mm shots, develop those to CD, send us the CD, and we'll upload the images.
